Boston Night Life

Even though Boston is better known for history than for nightlife, still visitors will find plenty of options for a night on the town, from refined lounges in the downtown hotels to Faneuil Hall Marketplace's bustling pubs to Cambridge's myriad music clubs. From nightspots with jazz and blues to DJ dance with young, trend-setting crowds to pubs with local folk musicians.

Felt
Felt's 14 colorful pool tables and New York-style lounge bring out hustlers of all stripes. 21st Amendment
Located in Beacon Hill, 19th century historical neighborhood, the club is best for late night drink. Named after the legislation that repealed Prohibition, it attracts young, successful, neighborhood types, who crowd into the two low-ceilinged rooms decorated in dark wood. Spirits run high, not to mention cheap, and everyone seems to be having a good time. In short, it's a grown up sorority mixer.

Sweetwater Cafe
The open floor plan, sizable bar, plethora of seating and casual attitude makes for an unstuffy place to unwind with a pint and a group of friends. The bar peddles a huge selection of brews and a solid menu of classic bar food with Cajun leanings--the spicy "Blue Burger" arrives smothered in blue cheese and topped with fried onions. In warmer months, the small patio with limited outdoor seating is in high demand, especially among smokers.
